This market will resolve according to the election or referendum won by Democrats with the highest margin of victory compared to the other listed events, all scheduled for November 4, 2025:

- Virginia Governor election
- Virginia House of Delegates election

If the results of any of these elections are not confirmed by July 31, 2026, this market will be resolved according to the results published thus far.

Will the California Proposition 50 referendum have the largest Democratic margin of victory?

The 2025 New York City mayoral election is scheduled to be held on November 4, 2025, to elect the mayor of New York City.

This market will resolve to “Yes” if all of the following conditions are met:

- Mamdani wins Queens in NYC Mayoral Election
- Hakeem Jeffries endorses Mamdani
- Zohran Mamdani Margin of Victory at least 10%
- Mamdani gets over 50% of the vote in the general mayoral election

Otherwise, this market will resolve to “No”.

This market will remain open until it is confirmed that at least one of the above conditions has not been met, or until all of the above conditions have been met.

If no general election for Mayor of New York City occurs by February 28, 2026, 11:59 PM ET, or the results are otherwise unknown by that date, this market will resolve 50-50.

This market will resolve to "Yes" if Zohran Mamdani wins over 50% of the votes cast in the general election for Mayor of New York City in 2025. Otherwise, this market will resolve to "No".

If no general election for Mayor of New York City occurs by February 28, 2026, 11:59 PM ET, or the results are otherwise unknown by that date, this market will resolve to "No".

- Mamdani wins the New York City Mayor election
- California referendum "Proposition 50" passes

Any other elections occurring in November 2025 that are not explicitly listed here will have no bearing on this market’s outcome.

For the purpose of this market, the “margin of victory” is defined as the difference in percentage points between the Democratic and Republican candidates’ final vote shares in each election.

If the margin of victory is identical, or if the results of either election are not confirmed by July 31, 2026, this market will resolve 50-50.

The primary resolution source for this market will be a consensus of credible reporting; however, if there is any ambiguity in the results, this market will resolve according to the official election authority responsible for conducting each election (the New York City Board of Elections and the Virginia Department of Elections).

Larger Margin of Victory: Mamdani vs Spanberger?

The 2026 Nice municipal election is scheduled for May 15 and May 22, 2026. The Mayor of Nice, France is elected via a three-round system; if no candidate obtains an absolute majority after two rounds of voting the election proceeds to a third round which requires only a simple majority. In case of a tie, the oldest candidate wins.

This market will resolve according to the candidate that wins this election.

If the results of the election are not known by December 31, 2026, 11:59 PM ET, this market will resolve to "Other".

This market will resolve based on the election results, as indicated by a consensus of credible reporting. If there is ambiguity, this market will resolve based solely on the official results as reported by the French Ministry of the Interior (élections.interieur.gouv.fr).

This market will resolve according to the listed candidate that wins this election.

This market includes any potential second round. If the result of this election isn't known by June 30, 2027, 11:59 PM ET, the market will resolve to "Other".

The New York City Council is set to hold an internal election for the position of Speaker on January 7, 2026. The election for the position of Speaker of the New York City Council typically falls on the first Wednesday after the first Monday in January. This market will resolve according to the name of the candidate that becomes Speaker of the New York City Council as a result of this election. 

Temporary, interim, or placeholder Speakers appointed before the election will not count.

If this election does not take place or the results of this election are not known by January 31, 2026, 11:59PM ET, this market will resolve to "Other".

This market will resolve based on official information from the New York City Council or a consensus of credible reporting.

Will Julie Menin be the next Speaker of the New York City Council?

This market will resolve to “Yes” if Zohran Mamdani ceases to be the mayor of New York City for any period of time between taking office and December 31, 2026, 11:59 PM ET. Otherwise, this market will resolve to “No”.

If Zohran Mamdani does not take office as the 111th Mayor of New York City, succeeding Eric Adams, as currently scheduled for January 1, 2026, by February 1, 2026, 11:59 PM ET this market will resolve to “Yes.”

An announcement of Zohran Mamdani's resignation/removal before this market's end date will immediately resolve this market to "Yes", regardless of when the announced resignation/removal goes into effect.

The primary resolution source for this market will be official information from Zohran Mamdani, his representatives, or the Office of the Mayor of New York City; however, a consensus of credible reporting will also suffice.

Zohran Mamdani out as mayor of NYC before 2027?

This market will resolve to "Yes" if Eric Adams finishes his term as Mayor of New York City without any interruptions. Otherwise, this market will resolve to "No".

This market will not resolve "Yes" until the office is successfully transferred from Adams to another person at the completion of his term, or until Adams is sworn into the office again at that time.

The primary resolution source for this market is official information from the government of New York, however a consensus of credible reporting will also be used.
